CEO Steve Mollenkopf confirms

In a chat with CNBC, Qualcomm’s CEO confirmed that it and Apple are on the doorstep of a resolution of  multi quarter licensing related issues. What CNBC didn’t tell you is that Apple doesn’t want to pay Qualcomm a tiny amount of money as it wants a special and favorable deal.

Qualcomm has reached a mutual agreement - a settlement with the Taiwan Fair Trade Commission (TFTC) - resolving its investigation of Qualcomm and Qualcomm’s litigation challenging the TFTC’s decision alleging violations of Taiwan’s Fair-Trade Act.

Last year Nvidia stopped getting so called licensing money from Intel. After five years the financial injection was  delivered in total. This all came after the Intel and Nvidia conflict that started over chipsets, but essentially was a settlement that ended up being called licensing. It never was GPU licensing.
