Escobar launches 'Unbreakable' foldable smartphone

Undercuts Samsung's Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X

Roberto Escobar has announced a foldable smartphone that is "very difficult to break" thanks to the screen's "special type of plastic."

Escobar has fallen foul of the Tame Apple press by preparing to file a $30 billion class-action lawsuits against Jobs' Mob for scamming people and wants the company to "give some of their illegal profits back to the people."  As a result, most of the headlines for this foldable phone story make a reference to Escobar's brother, Pablo Escobar, who was a notorious Drug Lord.  To be fair it does give you the ability to come up with some cracking gags, but it would appear that this Escobar is cut from a different type of cloth,

The Escobar Fold 1, which could have been one of his brother's favourite enforcement methods, is now a phone which significantly undercuts Samsung's Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X with a price of only $349.

While all the foldable phones announced so far have a price tag of at least $1,500+, the Escobar Fold 1 will be available from only $349 which includes free shipping and a case as well. It will be sold unlocked and work on all compatible networks worldwide. This makes it cheaper than other non-foldable flagship smartphones available in the market right now.

Like the Huawei Mate X, the Escobar Fold can be unfolded to turn it into a tablet with a screen size of 7.8-inches. The expanded AMOLED display has a 4:3 aspect ratio and an FHD+ resolution. The design language is different from the Samsung Galaxy Fold which features two separate displays, one of which folds.

Escobar said his phone will not have any reliability issues that have plagued the Samsung Galaxy Fold. He says that his phone uses a "special plastic" that makes it difficult to break.

“My phone cannot break, because I did not have to make a glass screen like Samsung,” Escobar said. “Our screen is made of a special type of plastic, and we still have the best resolution. Our special plastic is very difficult to break.”

On the inside, it is powered by the flagship Snapdragon 855 chipset with up to 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, which can be further expanded via microSD. As for cameras, we get a 16MP f/1.8 primary camera and a 20MP secondary shooter. The outer shell has a gold lining with a fancy Escobar Inc logo engraved across the back.
