12.9 inch iPad Pro unveiled tomorrow

Side-by-side apps, A9X monster 14nm CPU

Apple has a busy day tomorrow. Apart from the iPhone 6S with iPhone 6S Plus, new Apple TV and Apple watch bands, the company plans to unveil the biggest yet, 12.9 inch iPad PRO.

This comes as a surprise as Apple tends to make a separate event for tablets, but the company feels it needs to do something to increase tablet size quickly.

The tablet, codenamed J98 and J99, will be a 12inch+ device. The biggest change is that the device is large enough to support side by side apps, making your iPad usable for something more than just reading ebooks, browsing webpages and email or watching video.

The split screen, side-by-side app use is definitely the biggest selling point, but we do believe that many people will find them too large to carry around all the time.

The iPad pro will debut with iOS 9 and the updated A9X SoC that is expected to come in 14nm with faster graphics and CPU performance. This will definitely be the fastest iPad so far and it will be the most expensive too. We expect to see them starting with larger than 16GB storage, but you never know with Apple, as it has been reported that the cheapest iPhone 6S will start with 16GB, and not 32GB as many have hoped.

There will be a WiFi and LTE version of the tablet. It will be an intersting event to watch tomorrow. Preorders are expected to start shorty after the event, with shipping time in October.
