Three weeks after launch

Xiaomi has just announced that it managed to sell 1.5 million Redmi 2 phones in a bit more than three weeks.

There are two Chinese brands that you should know by now. Xiaomi and Meizu are the biggest ultra-popular brands in China and Xiaomi's lower end Redmi 2 phone went on sale on in middle of August. It managed to sell 800.000 devices within the first 12 hours. Three weeks later, the company managed to sell 1.5 million Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 devices.

The phone comes with an impressive specification that includes Qualcomm's Snapdragon 410,  64-bit processor, 4G 150 Mbit / sec LTE capable phone, 4.7 inch with 1280x720, 312 pixel per inch 178 degrees viewing angle and 8 megapixel camera with f2.2.

While a 720p HD screen and 1.2Ghz clocked Snapdragon 410 is not top of the range, but the phone sells for 108.32€ from German warehouse with all taxes included. That is a pretty good deal.

Quad core A53 cores should be enough to run the heavily customised MIUI 6 skin that sits on top of Android operating system. The Xiaomi Redmi 2 comes with 2200 mAh lithium polymer battery that comes from either LG or Sony. The device supports Quick charge 1.0 standard.

There is a dual SIM card support with 4G, 1GB LPDDR3 memory and 8GB flash that is expandable to 32GB via microSD card.
