iPhone users are more sleazy

More than a third

UK iPhone users are more likely to send a "sext" to a partner, according to a survey. The poll found a third of iPhone users had sent a cheeky message, compared with less than a quarter of BlackBerry users and 17 per cent of those using Android.

One in five Apple fanboys have dumped a partner by text, which is double the national average. This seems to imply that if you want to find a steady partner who is not sending sleazy messages to other people, it is best to avoid someone with a phone with an Apple logo on it.

The survey said 20 percent of all smartphone users had admitted sending a rude message or photo to the wrong person - and of those who had made this mistake, 4 per cent were accidentally sent to a mother-in-law. Duncan Spencer, managing director of, who commissioned the research, said: "It does seem that iPhone owners are certainly a little more risque when it comes to their mobile communications.

"The moral of the story is that if you are going to send cheeky messages, check before you sext, otherwise you might find your private photo going viral. There are some things that can never be unseen."

Some of the most embarrassing cases of misplaced "sexts" reported in the survey are:

1. "I texted my mate about a girl I had slept with the night before to say how bad it was - but I sent it to the girl. I felt rather ashamed."

2. "I sent a lusty message intended for my husband to my business partner. Both have the same first name. Whoops!"

3. "I meant to send an image of myself in a VERY sexy Ann Summers outfit to my husband. It went to my cousin. They have the same first name. Shudder."

4. "I wrote to a lady friend of mine to tell her that I was having cheeky thoughts of her whilst in the shower. I sent this by mistake to my elder sister. The shame!"

5. "I sent a picture of my private parts to my mother-in-law instead of my wife. When I saw her the next day for lunch she didn't mention a thing - and hasn't to this day!"
