The rumor comes from MegasizeGPU over at Twitter, and it suggests that Nvidia still did not set a launch date for the RTX 4060. It is also not clear if the 4050 will have the RTX or GTX designation, but it should be based on the AD107 GPU, the same one that should be maxed out with 3072 CUDA cores on the RTX 4060. It is not clear how far will the Nvidia cut the AD107 on the 4050, but rumors suggest 6GB of GDDR6 memory on a 96-bit memory interface, which is a significant cut-down from the 8GB on the RTX 3050.

Desktop 4060Ti - end of May
Desktop 4050- June
Desktop 4060- not decided yet
As noted, the RTX 4070 launches on April 13th with AD104 GPU with 5888 CUDA cores and 12GB of GDDR6X memory on a 192-bit memory interface, while the RTX 4060 Ti should come in May, based on AD106 GPU with 4352 CUDA cores and 8GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit memory interface.
The same source has revealed the RTX 4060 Ti box art earlier, suggesting that Nvidia AIC board partners have already received the marketing materials so the name is pretty much carved in stone as soon as boxes go to printing, which also means that we are pretty close to the launch date.
