THQ extends Warhammer 40K license

by on27 April 2011

Multi-year-extension with Games Workshop
In a move that actually isn’t going to take anyone by surprise, publisher THQ has come to terms with Games Workshop to extend their video game license agreement. This means that THQ will continue to hang on to the Warhammer video game IP.

This is an important move, considering that THQ has two Warhammer titles in development. The first Warhammer title is an action shooter called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. The second is the Warhammer MMO known as Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Online.

THQ plans to continue expanding their Warhammer video game offerings, as the Warhammer franchise has a robust storyline that should translate well into a variety of video game offerings. THQ is believed (according to our sources) to readying to ship both Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine and Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Online at some point yet this year.
