A certain number of Intel NUC SKUs have 10nm processors inside and they are codenamed Crimson Canyon. This was confirmed to us by Brandt Guttridge, general manager of desktop product marketing, at the last Intel desktop event and the only other notebook machine that features 10nm is the Lenovo Ideapad 330 notebook, available only in China.
Lenovo Ideapad 330 with Core i3-8121U CPU
Intel had a rough time manufacturing 10nm CPUs and while we won't see any volume until next year, the first laptop with 10nm Cannon Lake CPU has been spotted online in China, the Lenovo Ideapad 330 with Core i3-8121U CPU.
Intel's 10nm is two years late
Intel hasn't announced its 10nm processors, despite us expecting them before the end of 2017. While there is a good indication that we shall see 10nm from Intel in 2018, it means that Chipzilla is two years behind with 10nm.
Ice Lake taped out as well
Intel has officially announced that its 9th generation Core Cannon Lake CPUs, based on 10nm manufacturing process, are on track as well as that its Ice Lake architecture has taped out.
Trouble with intel’s 10nm continues
KGI Securities and world’s leading Apple leaking analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, shared that Cannon Lake 10nm is likely to debut in 2H 2017 in new, 32GB capable Macbook Pros. The transition to LPDDR4 could result in 15-25 percent less power consumption over the current LPDDR3.
After Skylake comes the Lake 14nm
Intel might have admitted that it will take a bit longer to get to 10nm, and it turns out that after the second generation 14nm Skylake, the next Intel CPU will be another 14nm design, not a 10nm part as many expected.
