Possible Intel 9th gen flagships revealed

Intel is gearing up to launch its 9th generation Core CPUs, which are slated to bring more performance, mostly to higher core counts and higher clock speeds. The leak shows the Core i9-9900K. the Core i7-9700K, and the Core i5-9600K, which was previously confirmed accidentally by Intel.

The list was originally leaked at Coolaler.com and spotted by Computerbase.de and starts off with the flagship Core i9-9900K CPU, an unlocked 8-core/16-thread SKU working at 3.6GHz base and 5.0GHz maximum Turbo Clock, 16MB of cache, and the same 95W TDP, just like the previous flagship, the Core i7-8086K (Core i7-8700K).

The direct successor to the Core i7-8700K is the new Core i7-9700K, an eight-core SKU without HyperThreading, which is a big surprise, and 3.6GHz base and 4.6GHz maximum Turbo clocks, and 12MB of cache. The flagship Core i5 member, the Core i5-9600K, will pack six cores and also lack HyperThreading support, same as the Core i5-8600K. It works at 3.7GHz base and 4.5GHz maximum Turbo clock, 9MB of cache, and has the same 95W TPD.

Intel left a big gap by launching the Core i7-9700K without HyperThreading, so we can possibly expect another SKU in future. If you remember correctly, AMD has never announced the Ryzen 7 2800X, which could be released when Intel launches these parts, putting some more pressure on Intel's lineup.

Earlier rumors suggested that Intel could launch these new SKUs in late Q3 or Q4 2018, and it should be compatible with current 300-series chipset motherboards, with a BIOS update, of course.
