Thomas Seifert is the new temp CEO
Dirk Meyer has left AMD and the decision seems to be mutual. Thomas Seifert, the company's senior vice president and chief financial officer, will succeed him until AMD finds a permanent replacement.

This is a great shocker as Dirk did quite a good job, probably much better than Hector Ruiz, but now its all over.

Dirk did some good things for AMD and let's hope that his successor can get AMD out of trouble.

To make things a bit more interesting, all this happens the very same day Nvidia announces a $1.5 billion cross licencing deal with Intel, its long term legal chipset settlement.

More here and here.
