Apple will not bring out new iWatch in March

by on18 January 2016

Just a minor update

Hopes that the fruity cargo cult Apple would save its moribund iWatch with a bold new wearable device, which did what everyone though the first one would do, are looking less likely.

The Tame Apple Press has been telling everyone who will listen that it did not matter that the first iWatch was a flop, because Jobs’ Mob was going to release a new one in March.

This was confirmed when information started to leak out about a March launch of the iWatch. Apple is expected to host an event in March which will see the announcement of a new, smaller iPhone. New MacBook models may also be shown off.

However TechCrunch  has done some digging and found that that the iWatch coming in March is a minor update rather than a big, new version of the device.

Apparently Apple does not appear to be enthusiastically developing new software for the new device. This is probably because no-one is buying the old one.

Ben Bajarin, an independent analyst, also said that Apple's supply chain, which will be used to make the new Apple Watch, had not seen significant changes in production levels.

"With the supply chain cuts from the usual suspects of Apple component providers, the timing does seem suspect for a new product given orders would have taken place in the latter part of 2015 if a new product is shipping first half of 2016," Bajarin said.

To be fair. Apple has about half of all smartwatch sales in 2015, according to market research. But those the people that actually bought one rather than those who use it, or would ever buy another one. With Apple gear there is a high percentage of people who buy anything with an Apple logo on it, whether it is a good idea or not. Hell, Donald Trump could be guaranteed eight million Apple fanboy votes if he tattooed the logo on his forehead.
