AMD outs Catalyst 11.6

by on16 June 2011

APU support, new video feature
AMD has rolled out Catalyst 11.6, the first driver pack to offer support for new Llano based APUs.

Along with expanded APU support, the new driver also delivers a new feature dubbed Steady Video. As the name implies, Steady Video deals with shaky and unstable video playback and it even offers image stabilization for YouTube.

Catalyst 11.6 resolves quite a few issues in Crossfire under Windows 7 and there’s also the usual performance boost in many popular games. Performance gains range from 5 percent in Far Cry 2 to 10 percent in Unigine Open GL tests on HD 6000 series cards. F1 2010 and HAWX perform up to 8 percent faster on single card configurations.
