THQ confirms Red Faction delay

by on14 September 2010

Offers dates for other upcoming releases
THQ has now confirmed that Red Faction: Armageddon, which was planned for a March 2011 release, has now been pushed back to an expected May 2011 release. No reason was given for the decision to push back the release date, but reaction from the investment community was swift, with THQ shares dropping after the announcement.

While the news for Red Faction: Armageddon wasn’t good, the company has confirmed some additional title releases and time frames. The new MX vs. ATV title is going to be called MX vs. ATV: Alive and it is slated for a spring 2011 release. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is still apparently on track for a summer 2011 release. The slate for THQ will be full in the fall of 2011 with releases of a new Saints Row title as well as a new WWE title.

The company has now apparently confirmed that it will not be releasing another UFC title till the winter of 2012 after a difficult outing of the last release in an effort to turn it into a yearly franchise. This comes as little surprise, as sales of UFC 2010 were not at all what the publisher had hoped.
