Many community members unhappy with decision

In what many Forza 3 fans considered an inevitable turn of events, Turn 10 has announced that they will be selling the VIP access that buyers of the Limited Collectors Edition of Forza 3 enjoyed. As we have told you previously, this has been a hot topic of discussion for some time now, as many complained that they didn’t know that the VIP membership that was included in the Limited Collectors Edition of Forza 3 was going to be as important as it has become.

The VIP memberships to Forza 3 will be sold under the name of the VIP Membership Car Pack, will cost 800 Microsoft Points and will include the 2008 Aston Martin DBS, 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, 2007 Ferrari F430 Scuderia, 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera and 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 RS as part of the package. Turn 10 will be donating $10 for every VIP Membership Car Pack purchased up to $100,000 to the Save the Children Relief Efforts in Haiti.

In addition, Turn 10 will also be making available the Sidewinder Proving Grounds Track Pack, Benchmark High Speed Ring Track Pack and Motorsport Legends Car Pack, which will all go for 400 Microsoft Points in the Xbox Live Marketplace.

The decision, of course, isn’t going to sit well with those that purchased the Limited Collectors Edition of Forza 3 from the start. It would seem, however, that the constant carping from those that wanted VIP status and the chance to make money has out-trumped any commitment to the fans that spent the extra cash at the beginning to purchase the Limited Collectors Edition. Despite the fact that Turn 10 is giving a lot of the money to a very worthwhile charity, it just seems to be unfortunate that they have decided to sell the VIP memberships.
