Ultra-thin Thinkpad for US $1,399

Lenovo's ThinkPad line of notebooks always had its fans who enjoy its rugged yet outdated, or traditional design if you will. Now, Lenovo announced its ultra-thin ThinkPad X1 Carbon for August 21st starting at US $1,399.

When it was announced back in May, Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 Carbon certainly drewa lot of attention as this 14-incher is only 18mm thick and packs decent hardware and some neat features. The X1 Carbon will be available in several different configurations ranging from US $1,399 to US $1,849 but the base price will get you Intel's Core i5-3317U 1.7GHz CPU and a 128GB SSD.

The rest of the specs, which are the same across all models, include a 14-inch 1600x900 screen, 4GB of memory and a quite recognizable ThinkPad Precision keyboard. The 3G option is also available on all but base model and Lenovo decided to include its Rapid Charge feature that will fill 80 percent of battery in 30 minutes, something that will be surely appreciated by consumers on the move.
