Lenovo announces sub-$800 Ultrabooks availability

The Ideapad U310 and U410

Lenovo has announced that its cheaper Ultrabooks, previously seen at CES in January, are now available for purchase. The 13.3-inch U310 and 14-inch U410 have showed up at Lenovo's online store with a price starting at US $749 and US $799, respectively.

The U310 is built around a 13.3-inch LED-backlit 1366x768 glare screen and will be available with Intel's 3rd generation Ivy Bridge Core i3, i5 or i7 CPU. The rest of the specs include up to 1TB of HDD storage, optional 32GB SSD cache drive, Nvidia Geforce graphics and Intel WiDi technology. The 13.3-inch U310 is barely 18mm thick (0.7-inch) and weighs 1.7kg (3.74lbs).

The bigger Ideapad U410 features the same type of screen which is just a tad bigger and will have pretty much the same specs as the 13.3-inch U310 model.

According to Lenovo, the new Ideapads should hit Lenovo's online stores as of today, while retailers in the US, the UK, Germany, Russia and other major markets should get is later this month. As noted, the price for base model starts at US $749 for the U310 and US $799 for the bigger U410.
