Rim to undercut Apple's iPad

by on10 November 2010

At last someone has seen common sense
After a rash of tablet products which are as overpriced as Apple's model, Rim is about to release one at a reasonable price.

Rim has said that it will start flogging an iPad for less than $500. For some reason all the iPad killers that have come onto the market have all been the same price as the Jobs' Mob machine and given it no competition.

However Rimm Co-Chief Executive Officer Jim Balsillie said his tablet will be very competitively priced. Sales of the BlackBerry Playbook, unveiled in September, will expand globally from the second quarter, he said. The iPad starts at $499.

He said that Apple's dominance will suffer so we guess the price will be “a lot less” than $500.
RIM added that its PlayBook tablet to handle Adobe's Flash technology although we doubt that will be the killer app.

The PlayBook has a 7-inch (18-centimeter) screen, smaller than the iPad’s 9.7-inch display.
