Does not give a four X any more

Software King of the World Microsoft has abandoned its plans for Windows 10X which was supposed to bring Windows to dual screens.

Microsoft-focused news outlet Petri reported that on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter, that Microsoft will not be shipping Windows 10X this year and the OS, as was described by the company in 2019, will likely never arrive.

The company has shifted resources to Windows 10 and 10X is on the back burner, for now.

There are lots of reasons why 10X isn’t coming to market including the fact that the timing and market conditions are working against Microsoft.

It is tough enough to find new PCs and introducing a new type of device, with a new OS, to a market that only wants traditional Windows 10 is pretty pointless. There apparently are those in the Redmond Volehill who think that the OS was not ready to start shipping and that customer feedback was not aligned to the product that they were producing.

Punters did not want a solution that Windows 10X would solve, what they want are Windows 10X features brought to Windows 10.
