The fruity cargo-cult Apple has signed a deal with Inventec to produce a connected speaker device which will echo Amazon's Echo with a pricey product which does less.

Now that Google and Amazon have been rather successful with pointless AI speaker devices, Apple has decided it will now put out a product and convince the world that it invented it.

According to Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) the connected speaker will be Apple's first AI-based smart home device. Apple’s god awful Siri will power it and already the Tame Apple Press is claiming that it will take on Amazon's smart home assistant Echo.

Kuo Ming-chi, an analyst at Taiwan-based KGI Securities said that Jobs' Mob will unveil the smart speaker during its annual WWDC 2017 conference to be held in June.

He said that the connected speaker will be priced higher than the US$179 for Echo. Our bet is that it will do less than the Echo, which is backed by shedloads of Amazon content which Apple does not have.

The move is going to cause a few problems with Apple’s normal supply chain. Foxconn Electronics, which would be Apple’s normal go to supplier is the sole producer of Amazon's Echo devices which would mean that making the Apple clone of the product would not be a starter. Inventec on the other hand makes Apple’s super, wonderful, game changing airbuds.
