U.S. starts the same as numbers sold in Japan
Nintendo may or may not be happy with the start that the 3DS is off to in the U.S. Reportedly, the 3DS was only able to move about 400,000 units in the week following its launch in the U.S. This means that sales in the U.S. were equal to what Nintendo was able to move for the 3DS in Japan.

While Nintendo is signaling publicly that they are pleased with the start of the 3DS, industry analysts are not so sure that this is the case. It is believed that the launch of their E-Shop and Zelda title, as well as Netflix for the platform, will really tell the story of how popular the console is going to be.

It is expected that Nintendo will announce a variety of new things for the 3DS that will be coming for the holidays as the company looks to push the 3DS this holiday season, and that will be hard to do without more software; and that is what you can expect, as well as additional updates, which should enhance the abilities of the console.
