Nintendo's new Switch delayed

by on20 February 2024

But at least not half-baked

Word on the street is Nintendo's next console might be fashionably late to the party, with whispers suggesting its Switch 2 won't grace our living rooms until early 2025.

Brazilian journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe claims to have gleaned this gem from not one but five separate rumours.

These elusive sources spill out some tantalising details about games slated for a Q1 2025 release, poised to accompany the console's grand entrance. The internal target of a 2024 launch has done a Houdini and vanished into thin air.

Eurogamer reports similar rumblings from industry insiders this week, though they've yet to crack the case wide open.

Meanwhile, VGC has been inundated with whispers from multiple sources claiming Nintendo's next-gen contraption will see the light of day in Q1 2025. Third-party publishers have been treated to an intimate tête-à-tête with Nintendo, where they were regaled with tales of a slight hiccup in the launch timeline. But fear not, for the delay supposedly serves to whip up a storm of first-party delights.

If these reports were correct, Switch 2 is set to make its grand debut in Q1 2025. It seems Nintendo's keen on creating a splash, ensuring the launch lineup is as bulging as a January waistline.

When you thought the plot couldn't thicken further, Bloomberg swoops in to add another layer to the saga. According to its impeccable sources, Nintendo's next-gen wonder will grace our eager mitts in March 2025.

Nintendo, ever the enigmatic maestro, has remained tight-lipped on the matter, leaving us all dangling like a carrot on a stick.

While the company continues to play coy, speculation about what delights the Switch successor might bring remains.
