Volta is out for artificial intelligence, machine learning applications and it will be shipping in DGX 1 systems, mainly for deep learning and AI. The next Geforce will be a  completely separate chip.

On Wednesday, Nvidia took the wraps off an interesting AI research product that packs the horsepower of a traditional server rack within the economical confines of a traditional desktop PC chassis.

Eight Tesla V100 accelerators equivalent to 800 desktop CPUs

Nvidia had quite a few announcements packed into a single GTC keynote this year, but among the more performance-oriented of them includes a refreshed DGX-1 supercomputer powered by eight Volta-based Tesla V100 GPUs.

While Vega sticks with 14nm

A little birdie told us that Nvidia is giving its Volta the 16nm FinFET treatment. This product uses stacked DRAM too so it looks like the whole thing will be pretty bleeding edge.

GTC 2015: Volta back in roadmap, due in 2018

Pascal is Nvidia’s next generation architecture and it is coming after Maxwell of course. The company says it will launch next year, but details are still sketchy.
