A sign of things to come

Breaks previous Titan X records

As expected, Vince K|ngp|n Lucido, a well-known overclocker, had some overclocking fun with EVGA's GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition and has managed to both push the GPU over 2.5GHz as well as break the previous 3DMark records, held by Nvidia Titan X graphics card.

Although the screenshot was only leaked on Youtube and quickly removed, it appears that AMD Ryzen 7 1800X is quite an overclocker, hitting 5.2GHz on LN2, which was also enough to break Cinebench R15 multi-thread record.

MSI has managed to take its automatical CPU overclocking to a whole new level as the Game Boost feature on its Z270 motherboards is capable of pushing Intel's Core i7-7700K to 5.2GHz with a simple push of a button.

Hardly mainstream

One of the things that we are noticing is that all the leaks and other information coming out of Chipzilla, suggests that the outfit is getting excited about the overclocking market.
