Discovery may become top pick for Nobel Prize in Physics

As some have heard by now, there was a major discovery in the world of science today that has been labeled perhaps “one of the biggest advancements of the past few decades.” A key prediction of Einstein’s general theory of relativity was essentially verified by the discovery of “gravitational waves” from the merger of two black holes coalescing in deep space. An Italian researcher working in Germany last fall has been named the first person on earth to spot their existence.
