Wants more AI in Windows 11

Software King of the World Microsoft is not going to release a new generation of Windows and wants to jack more AI under the bonnet of Windows 11 instead.

Probably about the same time as Linux on the desktop

Optimism abounds

In a buoyant display of confidence, two of the largest technology vendors, Lenovo and Microsoft, have expressed optimism about their prospects for the coming year, driven by a combination of a Windows refresh and the emergence of more artificial intelligence (AI)-capable PCs.

Not poweful enough

Lenovo China's manager with the Weibo name 思考未来啊 has warned that the next-gen Ryzen 8050/9000 PCs will not support Windows 10.

Although it is not as good as it sounds

Google said it will let firms install ChromeOS Flex on their Windows devices, "saving millions of PCs from being dumped after Microsoft stops supporting Windows 10 next year."

Licence to kill, killed 

Software King of the World Microsoft is about to pull the plug on sales of Windows 10 licences from its online site.

Only better at handling some workloads 

When software King of the World Microsoft released Windows 11 it said that it would be faster than Windows 10 because it was optimised for more modern hardware, however, the latest figures show that they are still pretty much on par.

Disappearing act 

Microsoft confirmed another issue affecting its Windows 10 operating system which causes the taskbar to disappear or that the device may become unresponsive. 

Blocking access 

Software King of the World, Microsoft has warned that the Direct Access feature in Windows 10 and 11 might bork if the user temporarily loses network connectivity or transitioning between Wi-Fi networks or access points.
