by on29 March 2024

Up to 14.6GB and 12.7 GB/s sequential transfer speeds

MSI has unveiled its latest addition to the SPATIUM SSD lineup, the flagship SPATIUM M580 FROZR. Equipped with a rather large passive heatsink and coming in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB capacities, the SPATIUM M580 FROZR has peak sequential read and write speeds of up to 14.6GB/s and 12.7GB/s, respectively.

Based on a 232-layer 3D NAND flash and using Phison's latest E26 PCIe Gen 5 controller, the MSI SPATIUM M580 FROZR also features a DRAM cache buffer and SLC cache. In addition, the M580 FROZR also features LPDC ECC and E2E Data Protection, is backed by a 5-year warranty and high TBW value.

In order to keep up with high speeds of 14.6GB/s and 12.7GB/s, the M580 FROZR comes with a rather large passive tower heatsink cooler with three CORE heatpipes. According to MSI, the heatsink should reduce operating temperatures by up to 20 degrees Celsius and should sustain that high performance even under heavy workloads.

MSI has also included its own software solution for status monitoring and data backup, built into its own MSI Center. MSI has also partnered up with Actiphy, which allows users to back up data.
