Geekbench 5 results shows it catching up with Zen 3

According to the latest rumor, it appears that Intel has a horse in the single-threaded race, at least according to the Geekbench 5 single-threaded result of the Core i9-11900T Rocket Lake CPU.

The Core i9-11900T is an 8-core/16-thread 35W SKU based on 14nm Cypress Cove architecture, and according to Intel, it should bring a 19 percent IPC improvement compared to the previous generation.

The Geekbench 5 result shows the Core i9-11900T running at 1.51GHz base frequency, but with a heavy boost to 4.9GHz, which was enough for s core of 1717 points for single-threaded and 8349 points in the multi-threaded test. As compared with AMD Ryzen 5800X by Techpowerup.com, which scores 1674 points in a single-threaded test, the Core i9-11900T is slightly faster, at least in single-threaded performance.

Intel's Rocket Lake CPUs are expected to launch in Q1 2021, and bring support for PCI-Express 4.0 as well as get Intel's new Xe graphics. Hopefully, we will see more information soon.
