Teamgroup announces DDR5 SO-DIMM memory

Ready for next-gen laptops

After initially announcing it is sampling DDR5 DIMMs that should be ready for Q3 2021, Teamgroup has now announced its new DDR5 SO-DIMM, ready for next-gen notebooks, mini-PCs, NAS, and other devices.

According to details provided by Teamgroup, the new DDR5 SO-DIMM specification are similar to those of the U-DIMM version, with a single module capacity of 16GB and a frequency of 4,800MHz, all at 1.1V.

According to Teamgroup, these modules have reduced power consumption, which is essential to laptops, as well as support on-die ECC.

Teamgroup also notes that current product specifications are from developed products and the company will "icontinue to work closely with motherboard manufacturers to achieve higher specifications".
