The leak came from a twitter account, @leaksfly to be more specific, and the account has just 18 tweets on a number of Chinese phone manufacturers. This does not necessarily mean the latest leak is fake, but some parts of it simply don’t add up.

The alleged roadmap lists upcoming parts such as the Snapdragon 616, Snapdragon 620, Snapdragon 625 and 620, Snapdragon 815 and Snapdragon 820. While some of the codenames and designations are not new and make sense, the nodes mentioned in the leak do not.

For example, the Snapdragon 616 is supposed to use an unspecified 28nm HKMG node, while the Snapdragon 625 and 629 are based on a 20nm HKMG process, courtesy of Samsung and GlobalFoundries. The Snapdragon 815 also uses a 20nm node, but the leak doesn’t say which one. Lastly, the Snapdragon 820 is said to be based on Samsung’s and GloFo’s new 14nm FinFET process.

Don’t get us wrong, some of the information in the leak checks out, but then again much of it does not. It is quite possible that we are looking at an outdated internal document from a certain vendor, with a fair amount of speculation. In any case some of these products are legit and we expect to see them by the end of the year. As for the rest of them, we will do a bit of digging, but don't get too excited just yet.
