Cebit 2011: AMD VP promises
Leslie Sobon, AMD VP of AMD product marketing has told us that the company is really happy with the market’s acceptance of Brazos.

There is a lot of interest from partners and there are a lot of systems and new designs on the way. So far we have seen the new APUs in netbooks, notebooks, tablets and nettops, but availability has been limited in most markets.

Leslie said that Europe will see more Brazos as of this month and things should get better soon. They are also happy that partners are making notebooks with 12-, 14- and even 15-inch screens, as Brazos packs enough performance for more market segments than Intel’s Atom.

The TPD is 9W for the dual-core parts and notebook manufacturers can squeeze some great battery life out of such. AMD finally has a good CPU to go after Atom and there is lots of money to be made in this market.

The price of Brazos based netbooks is pretty good, it’s very close to Intel's netbook prices which are acceptable for many people. AMD has high hopes for this market and we believe it has a very good product to take on Intel.
