Record quarter with $5.9B of revenue

AMD has released its Q1 2022 financial results, reporting record revenue of $5.9 billion, gross margin of 48 percent, net income of $786 million with EPS of $0.56.

China’s regulatory authority approval is official

China’s regulatory authority has given AMD the green light for a $35 billion acquisition. USA, Korea, Taiwan, and the European Union already gave their blessing for the transaction earlier.

Piper Sandler is not optimistic

AMD was downgraded Thursday by Wall Street analysts Piper Sandler to neutral from overweight.

AMD's $35 billion acquisition of Xilinx is now expected to close in the first quarter of 2022, which is a few months after AMD and Xilinx's originally proposed closing of the deal before the end of 2021.
