LG G3 Prime might launch as early as this week

Snapdragon 805 equipped LG G3 coming to Korea

According to reports coming from South Korea, LG's premium version of the recently released flagship LG G3 smartphone, the LG G3 Prime, might be released as early as this week, or July 25th. Unfortunately, the launch will most likely be limited to South Korea.

According to earlier rumors, the LG G3 Prime should be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805 SoC and features an LTE-Advanced modem which raises the bar to 225Mbps. The rest of the specifications should be the same as on the LG G3 with a 5.5-inch 1440p screen, 3GB of RAM, 13-megapixel main camera and 3,000mAh battery.

Unfortunately, the launch will most likely be limited to Korea and it is possible that the LG G3 Prime will never be available anywhere else. Samsung did a similar thiung with its Galaxy S4, or to be precise, the Galaxy I9506 S4 which packed a much more powerful Snapdragon 800 SoC. Another big problem is that the LTE-Advanced is not actually supported in most countries and it simply will not make sense to launch it in other regions.

In any case, the LG G3 Prime is set to launch in South Korea on 25th of July and while LG still did not make an official announcement, we are quite sure we will hear more quite soon.
