HTC sheds some light on Jelly Bean update plan

512MB RAM smartphones excluded

HTC finally came clean on its Jelly Bean update plans and unfortunately some smartphones will never see the Android 4.1 treat.

This is pretty much in line with what other manufacturers are saying and HTC believes that Ice Cream Sandwich will simply provide a better user experience on phones with 512MB of RAM or less. If this is the case, users with the HTC One V and Desire C will be quite disappointed as these two phones are out of the loop.

To make things worse, HTC is saying that it will focus on smartphones released in the 2012, while older phones will put under consideration, which basically means there is a slim chance that those older devices will ever see Jelly Bean update.

Of course, HTC did not talk about precise dates, but the One X and One S smartphones have already started to get their piece of Jelly Bean heaven so other smartphones might be lining up as well.
