OCZ has announced its latest addition to the SSD lineup, the OCZ Indilinx SSD based on the Everest Series SATA 6Gbps platform that has already found its way into LG's ultra-thin P220 Series notebooks.
Altough the performance details haven't been announced, the key feature of the new SSD is that it is 7.5mm thick, or precisely, 25 percent slimmer than tradition 9.5mm 2.5-inch HDD or SSD, making it possible for LG to use it in even slimmer notebook casing. The new SSD also brought the "fast boot" technology to P220 as well as improved performance and increased battery life and "instant-on" functionality.
Currently, LG is using the 128GB version of custom designed Everest SSD with a slight hint that we'll see other versions as well.
