The goal of these webinars is to inform both hardware and software developers of the opportunities in wearables and Internet of Things (IoT) market segments, and obviously, MediaTek's plans in these emerging market segments. 

The company launched MediaTek Labs back in September 2014 and the wearable push has resulted with a few interesting designs including a few smart watches based on Aster MT2502A, along with upcoming designs based on the more powerful MT2601, designed to support Android Wear.

The first webinar is called Develop your own IoT and wearables devices with MediaTek LinkIt development platforms and it takes place online on the 28th of May. The company plans to talk about MediaTek LinkIt ONE, MediaTek LinkIt Connect 7681, as well as MediaTek LinkIt Assist 2502.

In this 30 minute webinar, followed by a Q&A, Phil Handschin, technical consultant, will give an overview of the MediaTek LinkIt portfolio of development platforms for wearables and IoT. With MediaTek Linkit One you can create wearables and IoT proofs-of-concept with the simplicity of Arduino like APIs and Seeed Grove peripherals. MediaTek LinkIt Connect 7681 is a simple way to Wi-Fi enable your devices and turn them into true connected devices. The platform can be used to create smart plugs,  light bulbs or other appliances. These can connect via smartphones to cloud-based services, enabling additional smart home services. We are sure that many will like to learn more about that concept.

The MediaTek LinkIt Assist 2502 is a professional design environment for design ro prototype software and hardware for wearables and IoT devices. This developer topol will help you package and limit the device size, create wearables and IoT devices with rich features, small footprint, and optimized power consumption.
