During its Editor’s Day conference in San Francisco, Nvidia announced a software utility to measure the quality of VR gameplay called FCAT VR. This tool is built on frame capture technology and, Nvidia claims,  lets users to forego an expensive hardware capture solution in order to analyze individual frames and interpret data sets through software.

Sony's $399 VR headset expected to take the lead

According to a recent estimate from virtual reality market sources, Oculus and Sony are positioned to pull ahead in total shipments of their VR headsets next year as HTC trails behind due to a disadvantage in pricing.
