Nvidia has already scheduled its “Geforce Special Event” to celebrate the 21st anniversary of the Geforce 256, something that Nvidia marketed as the world’s first GPU, where it is expected to launch its Ampere-based cards.
The report, originated from Anthony Garreffa over at Tweaktown.com, suggests that Nvidia AIC partners might have their custom cards ready from day one, or at least close to the launch day, which is not a big surprise considering that Nvidia should have their Founders' Edition cards ready as well.
Previously, ASUS has been spotted with its own custom 3080 Ti design but it only shown a cooler design, rather than the board design, and Nvidia has been known to hold its information until the last day in order to keep the lid on possible leaks.
Bear in mind that Nvidia can also change its schedules, and nothing is carved in stone, but with AIC more partners confirming the September as launch date, Nvidia might have decided to give its AIC partners a bit more room.
In any case, the event is scheduled for September 1st, 9AM Pacific Time, with Nvidia Founder and CEO, Jensen Huang as the host.
