by on31 July 2012

In standard and OC flavours

MSI has rather quietly introduced two new models that will be a part of its Nvidia 600 series lineup, the 4GB GTX 680 Twin Frozr III graphics cards.

Available in standard and OC flavour, these new graphics cards will feature 4GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 256-bit memory interface and feature, what appears to be, a custom PCB with MSI's quite well known Twin Frozr III cooler.

Specs wise, the standard one will end up working at reference 1006MHz for base and 1058MHz for boost GPU clock while the OC Edition will end up at 1058MHz for base and 1124MHz for the boost GPU clock. As noted, both graphics cards will feature 4GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 6008MHz.

The new cards feature two DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs and apparently require two 6-pin PCI-Express power connectors. Unfortunately, the availability date or the precise price have not been revealed but these are expected to end up around 20 percent more expensive than its 2GB counterparts.
