Quite better than GTX 580

According to a slide that sneaked up during Nvidia's annual investors meeting, the GTX 680 is selling like crazy. These details can also explain the fact that the GTX 680 is still hard to find as demand excedes supply.

The aformentioned slide was spotted by PCPerspective and it shows the first six weeks from launch and the amount of "units sold out globally". According to slide, in six weeks since the launch, the GTX 680 sales were 60 percent higher than the sales of the GTX 580. According to PCPerspective, the numbers are actual sales of boards from AIBs to distributors, system builders, e-tailers and retailers.

In case you somehow missed it, the GTX 680 is based on Nvidia 28nm Kepler GK104 GPU and features 1536 CUDA cores orginized in four graphics processing clusters or GPCs. It works at 1006MHz for base clock, 1058 boost clock and 1500MHz (6.0GHz effective) for 2GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 256-bit memory interface.

Of course, yields are certainly a problem as Nvidia would definitely like to be able to ship out more chips, but for now, it looks like the demand takes at least a part of the blame.
