New reason for AMD lovers to hate Apple

Maker of shiny toys Apple is reportedly moving away from AMD and getting back in bed with Nvidia for the new MacBook Pro.

The marriage of convenience with AMD was brought about by certain issues plaguing Nvidia GPUs a few years back. By issues we mean some of them didn’t really work. It is unclear what convinced Cupertino to ditch AMD in favor of Nvidia this time around.

Apple’s next generation MacBooks are said to feature Retina-like displays, so a bit more GPU muscle is in order. Currently, 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pro models ship with Radeon HD 6700 series graphics.
