“After careful consideration over the last year, we at Blizzard have made the decision not to hold BlizzCon in 2024,” Blizzard said in its statement. Blizzard was keen to note that the decision did not come lightly, as it is definitely a special event, and outlined that BlizzCon mightbe back in future years.
Blizzard held BlizzCon last year, which was the first event after the BlizzCon 2020 was cancelled. Blizzard went to host a livestream event in 2021, and a hybrid event in 2022. Back in November last year, Microsoft's Phil Spencer took to the stage to announce the acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
Blizzard also announced it will soon share more details about its future plans for events like the upcoming Gamescom as well as details that will mark the 30th anniversary of Warcraft.
After careful consideration over the last year, we at Blizzard have made the decision not to hold BlizzCon in 2024. We’re excited to bring BlizzCon back in future years, and we still have some exciting plans for events in 2024!
