Official reveal trailer and game details

After earlier rumors and teasers that started yesterday, Ubisoft has now officially announced Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and it will be set in the ninth century and follow a Viking raider by the name of Eivor.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is the twelfth major installment  or the wenty-second if you count all the Assassin's Creed series. According to earlier released details, Ubisoft's main team at Ubisoft Montreal had support from a total of 14 other Ubisoft studios worldwide, and it will include some nice features like raids, your own settlement, Viking longships, and Ubisoft's lead producer Julien Laferrière, speaking with Eurogamer, said that the studio found a way to incorporate Viking lore into the Assassin’s Creed lore.

The game is set in the 9th century, in the Viking's invasion of Britain, attacking Anglo-Saxon kingdoms like Wessex, Northumbria, East Anglia, and Mercia. You will be able to take the role of Eivor, a Viking raider from Norway involved in the conflict between the Brotherhood of Assassins and the Templar Order. The eagle will be replaced with a raven, which is a better suit for such a timeframe and Viking lore.

As a successor to Assassin's Creed Odyssey, the game will also include former Abstergo Industries researcher Layla Hassan, in the modern-day storyline.

As expected, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is launching in the 2020 holiday season on Windows PC (uPlay and Epic Games Store), Google Stadia, as well as Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4.

The first look at the game is expected on May 7th on Microsoft's next Inside Xbox episode.
