From January 7 2016

After successful holiday sales, Nvidia wants to boost its January bottom line with a Rise of the Tomb Raider bundle for selected Geforce desktop and mobile cards.

The game bundle hits the shops on January 7 and new customers with Geforce GTX 970, GTX 980, GTX 980 Ti will get it. Geforce gaming notebook customers with Geforce GTX 970M, GTX 980M or the discrete GTX 980 will get the bundle tool.

Since the game is published by Square Enix and Microsoft it is hardly a surprise that Microsoft released this game exclusively on the Xbox One for holiday season.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is out on January 7

The PC release was scheduled for early 2016 and this means January 7 or late next week.

The news was confirmed by Nvidia in an official email sent to a various addresses and it is a nice addition to a great hardware purchase. It is not as cool as the Star wars Battlefront bundle but it is  still pretty good. .

Nvidia is finishing its financial Q4 2016 in late January and the company wants to boost its sales in the remaining two weeks of that financial quarter.

Boost the financial Q4 2016 Geforce sales

Nvidia is expecting more than $1.30 billion revenue with plus and minus one or two percent in the financial Q4 2016. The GAAP and non GAAP gross margins are expected to be 56.7 percent and 57.0 percent, respectively, plus or minus 50 basis points.

This is slightly better than the financial Q3 2016 for Nvidia and a good result. Nvidia will increase its operating expenses from $489 GAAP in financial Q3 to $503 million.

2016 will be the year of Pascal architecture that is expected later on but Nvidia thinkgs that there is still life in Maxwell based 28nm architecture.
