Blow borrowing money to finish The Witness

Braid no long selling well enough to support his team

Jonathan Blow the creator of Braid has pretty much run out of money to finance his new project known as The Witness.

The Witness has been described as a Myst-like puzzle game that has been announced for the PlayStation 4, iOS, and PC. (Blow apparently has an exclusive deal for The Witness on the PlayStation 4 and so far he has had no comment about a future Xbox One release.)

Braid earned Blow over a couple of million dollars, but he has apparently elected to roll the dice and sink all of that money (or at least the majority of it) into The Witness. As of right now, The Witness isn’t finished and Braid isn’t selling well enough any longer to be enough of a revenue stream to support his team in the continued development of The Witness.

Blow has admitted that they development of The Witness has probably taken too long and he is non-committal on if we will actually see The Witness yet this year. One thing Blow has not be shy about answering is that he has had to in fact borrow money to finish the project.

At this point all Blow seems to be able to hope for is that The Witness gets finished as soon as possible and people like the game and buy it. A big risk if you ask us, but we wish Blow the best on his dice roll.
