by on09 February 2015

Could be World at War sequel say rumors

Rumor after rumor, after rumor, over the last several months - Activision is now confirming that the new Call of Duty title in the franchise will come from Treyarch.

This move confirms and completes Activision to a three studio annual rotation for the Call of Duty franchise.

In this new rotation, we will see Treyarch in 2015 and then Infinity Ward in 2016, and then back to Sledgehammer who just released Advanced Warfare last year. The confirmation of the three studio rotation comes from the Q4 Activision Blizzard briefing.

As for what exactly Treyarch is working on for the next Call of Duty, it is really anyone’s guess because there has been no official word from Activision. The rumor mill as usual has it all figured out and they believe that Treyarch is working on World at War 2. The sequel would be a follow up to their 2008 release which appeared on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and PC.
