Far Cry 4 to launch November 18 2014

Ubisoft confirms

We are just four days away from Wolfenstein: The New Order, a highly anticipated game and today Ubisoft has decided to tell its investors that it plans to launch Far Cry 4 just in time for Christmas.

The company said that it plans to release the first person shooter on November 18. The game will launch for PC, Xbox One, Playstation 3 and 4 as well as the Xbox 360. Europe as well as parts of the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) will get the hold of the game on November 20th, so it's not a big delay compared to the US launch.

People who dare to pre-order the game will get a free upgrade to the limited edition of the game which packs three single player missions named Hurk's Redemption. There will be additional weapon too, such as Hurk's harpoon gun.

Ubisoft has quite an ambitious plan as its goal is to be "among the top 10 bestselling games of the year" and we hope for their sake that they are right. We remember a certain graphics company chose to bundle Far Cry 3 with its cards last year and we wonder if the tradition will continue with the fourth installment of the franchise.

The game is being developed by Montreal, Red Storm, Toronto, Shanghai and Kiev studios which sounds like quite a lot of cooperation and collaboration.

Far Cry 4 is set in Kyrat, an untamed region ruled by a despotic self-appointed king that looks like Patrick Stewart (Jean Luc Picard from Star Trek TNG) with Julian Assange's hair and Muammar Gaddafi's uniform.  We are quite sure that you will have to kill quite a lot of unfriendly characters in this game to overthrow and kill the despot, so it’s a bit like Syria.

Ubisoft promises to shows the world some gameplay at this year's E3 that kicks off on June 9th.  If you really want to pre-order it now, you can. Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and 4 and PC version are available for pre-order for $59.99. If you want to play this game on your consoles using a season pass, it will cost you $29.99, but it will expire after a year.
