No 1080p native rendering for Titanfall

by on28 February 2014

Hoping to render at 900p at release time

Respawn Entertainment Co-founder Vince Zampella has confirmed that as expected Titanfall is not going to natively render at 1080p when it is released on the Xbox One. Actually this isn’t a surprise when Zampella confirmed this on Twitter as we learned that the beta was rendering at 792p and was being upconverted to 1080p.

Zampella provided nothing new on this front, but as suggested by community manager Abbie Heppe, the developers at Respawn are hoping to get the game natively rendering at 900p before it is released. There is still no word how close Respawn might be to achieving that goal.

We know that the Xbox One version of Titanfall has gone gold and is in the manufacturing process. It will make its scheduled release on March 11th in North America and March 14th in Europe for the Xbox One and PC. Sources tell us that retail build of the game will render at a higher resolution, but it is unknown if that will come via a day one update or it is part of the retail version of the game, but again there has still been no confirmation from Respawn that this is anything more than a rumor at this point.
