Stick of Truth delayed another 3 months

Needs to be up to South Park standards

Bad news for South Park fans, the upcoming South Park: the Stick of Truth has been again delayed. This time we will not see the game release till March 4th, 2014 in North American and March 7th, 2014 in the UK. Originally, Ubisoft had reported that developer Obsidian was on target for a release in December, but that is not to be. (Need an Intellilink upgrade? Ed)

As you might recall, Ubisoft won the publishing rights to the South Park: The Stick of Truth RPG in the THQ auction and prior to that the game had already been delayed by THQ and now it has had its release date moved twice by Ubisoft.

South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker are heavily involved in the development of the game and they want the game to be as best as possible so that players feel like they are in an episode of South Park. To that end they say that the extra time is necessary to get the game right.

An analyst we spoke with today said the following, “Well, considering the amount of money that has been dumped into this title, they need to get it right so that it will be a major hit in order to recoup the large development costs that this game has incurred. The good news if there is any, is that the decision to delay the game in the name of getting it right is the best decision that Ubisoft could make as there does appear to be a large market for the title if it lives up to the expectations.”
