Rubin cancels next Saints Row Expansion

by on21 June 2012

Instead, will move forward on full sequel

Jason Rubin is very pleased with how well Saints Row: The Third has done, so much so that he has told developer Violation to stop work on the Enter the Dominatrix standalone expansion pack for the game and instead get working on full-fledged sequel. The content of Enter the Dominatrix was apparently so good that an expansion was just simply not enough to bring all of the new ideas into it.

The work on “Enter the Dominatrix” isn’t going to waste, however, as it will be incorporated into a fully-fledged and full-priced sequel. While it isn’t clear if the sequel will actually be Saints Row 4 or not isn’t  clear yet, the release of the sequel would be for calendar year 2013, so that alone is good news for THQ.

Right now, the sequel is being called, “The Next Great Sequel in the Saints Row Franchise,” but we are told this is just a working title for the time being. Sources suggest that the release would happen toward the second half of 2013, with a fall or holiday offering the most likely.
