Lenovo has really been getting ahead of things of late and been coming up with some designs which leave more expensive models to shame.

With a 5th generation Intel Core i7 processors and Quad HD 13.3-inch 2560 x 1440 displays, the two laptops pack a hell of a lot of grunt for something that weighs 850g . The convertible with touchscreen is a little heavier at 925g but they are still on the light end of the scale.

Of course the Tame Apple Press is doing its best to claim that Lenovo is trying to copy Apple's MacBook, but if it is, it is doing a much better job.

Lenovo's latest laptops either undercut or ,match the Apple's Intel Core M powered machine's and provide much more computing power.

Made from a Magnesium-Lithium (Mg-Li) alloy chassis the pair are both Windows 8.1 64-bit machines.

The only other differences between the two models are in their physical construction and weight. The $1,499.00 Lenovo LaVie Z weighs 1.87lbs (850g). The $1,699.00 Lenovo LaVie Z 360 convertible with its touch screen and Yoga-style hinges weighs 2.04lbs (925g).
